Overview

AutoPilot ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your vehicle data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information.

Data We Collect

AutoPilot collects minimal data to provide its core functionality:

  • Vehicle Information: Year, make, model, mileage, and driving conditions you provide during setup. This data is stored only on your device.
  • Service Records: Maintenance history, costs, and notes you enter. Stored locally on your device.
  • AI Chat Messages: When you use the AI assistant (Axle), your messages are sent to our server to generate responses. We do not store conversation history on our servers after the response is delivered.
  • Receipt Photos: Photos you attach to service records are stored locally on your device only.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Your name, email, or contact information
  • Your location or GPS data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
  • Information from other apps on your device

AI Assistant (Axle)

The AI assistant feature sends your chat messages and basic vehicle context (year, make, model, mileage) to our secure server to generate responses. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored after the response is delivered. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit.

Subscriptions

AutoPilot offers optional in-app subscriptions managed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not process or store any payment information. All billing is handled by Apple according to their privacy policy.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we schedule local notifications on your device for upcoming maintenance reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device — no data is sent to any server.

Third-Party Services

AutoPilot uses the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI API: Powers the AI assistant responses. Messages are processed according to OpenAI's data usage policies.
  • Apple StoreKit: Manages in-app subscriptions.

Data Deletion

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all data at any time by deleting the app. There is no server-side data to request deletion of.

Children's Privacy

AutoPilot is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
